That said you are not the first to do this check out this guide. I like to relate problems like this to pushing a rope. Is there a way to permanently delete the existing categories so they don't come back? I have tried backing up and updating the categories using the note method and then clicking on the Upgrade to color categories in data properties of the mailbox, as well as running the outlook.exe /remigratecategories command to no avail. If I delete the categories and remigrate, all of the old categories come back along with the new categories. I have tried several ways to migrate the custom color categories to other PC's in the office, but due to existing color categories on the other PC's, all of the migrated colors change and are now different colors. I have a client that has about 20 customer color categories that she uses on her shared calendar.
